Hello and Happy New Year!!

It’s my second day back in the boutique and wow, have I missed it!! I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas break and drank and ate far too much feel well rested. 2018 brides – this is your year! And, of course, CONGRATULATIONS to all the newly engaged brides out there. My diary has been filling up with all the late 2018 and 2019 brides from all over Devon and Cornwall, ready to say yes to their dream wedding dress so it’s all very exciting here at Champagne & Charlotte Bridal HQ.

If you are one of those lucky brides to get engaged over the festive period, you probably feel a little bit overwhelmed. After the initial excitement, you may feel as though there is a lot to do but you’re not quite sure where to begin! If you’re reading this blog post, I would imagine you are starting to think about your wedding dress so a couple of quick tips for you:

  1. Generally speaking, wedding dresses need to be ordered at least six months in advance. Most brides start looking 10-12 months before their wedding day. I always think this is the perfect time as it is the same time of year as your wedding so you have an idea on the weather etc.
  2. Pick a venue before you start wedding dress shopping. Of course, you are absolutely welcome to make a Pinterest board full of ideas (check out our Pinterest board of loveliness here) but save the actual shopping until you have a venue and a date. These two factors can play a huge role in the type of wedding dress you choose. You don’t want to buy a huge ballgown with an impressive train, only to later decide you’re getting married in a muddy field!
  3. Once the venue and date have been decided and your wedding date is less than 12 months away, get in touch and book an appointment. As we give every bride exclusive use of the boutique, appointments are essential so that you don’t turn up to find that we are busy and unable to help you. 4. Don’t let the thought of wedding dress shopping stress you out. I promise you, wedding dress shopping (especially at Champagne & Charlotte) is a wonderful experience.
